Release Engineer
Overview
Clearspring Technologies, is the leading widget syndication and analytics platform for Web 2.0, reaching over 127M unique viewers every month. The Clearspring widget platform is being leveraged by a rapidly growing list of premier media companies across the globe including the BBC, Paramount, NBC, Walt Disney Company, MTV, and The National Football League.
We are seeking a passionate, talented Release Engineer to create, maintain, and evolve of build/release processes and automation tools for our rapidly growing software platform. This is a high-impact position where your work will ensure that that Clearspring platform continues to provide the scalability and reliability demands of 100+ of the world's largest publishers for the syndication, measurement, and monetization of their widget content.
Primary Responsibilities
- Automate processes and deployments to development, staging, and production environments
- Manage Clearspring Subversion source code repository
- Coordinate release planning, documentation and related meetings
- Maintain and improve Ant build scripts
- Improve development processes through automation and third party tools
- Ensure code quality check points have been conducted for all code changes
- Set up continuous integration environments, like CruiseControl, Hudson etc.
Required Skills/Experience
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplines
- Minimum 2-5 years experience in software development environment
- Experience with Agile/SCRUM methodologies and continuous integration
- Expert knowledge and experience with Apache Ant
- Strong knowledge of a scripting language (Perl, Python, Ruby, etc.)
- Knowledge of shell scripting in Linux, Windows, and Unix environments
- Knowledge of XML programming and dependency management tools such as Ivy
