VP Advertising
Overview
Clearspring Technologies, is the leading widget development and syndication platform, generating over 127 million world-wide viewers each month, including 50 million US unique viewers (approximately 27% of all US Internet users).
We are looking to add a seasoned, online advertising executive to lead strategy, development and implementation of a full suite of advertising solutions. As the leader in widget syndication, Clearspring's advertising solutions are being highly anticipated by the market, and will serve as a model in the evolution of online advertising.
The Vice President will lead a team of Product Managers and Software Engineers in the development of system components including ad server, campaign optimization, workflow management, self-service ad placement and reporting functionality to help clients like NBC, MTV, Disney, Sony, and ESPN monetize their widget content across the distributed web and social networks (MySpace, iGoogle, Facebook, MSN, etc.).
Primary Responsibilities
- Assume overall responsibility for the advertising solutions product development pipeline from conception through development and rollout, in a fast-paced, agile and dynamic environment
- Work closely with product management, engineering, and business development teams to translate product and service requests into commercially successful advertising solutions
- Coordinate with Clearspring Executives to ensure advertising solutions are designed and implemented in line with evolving corporate strategies, market trends, and client/partner business objectives
- Take a leading role in initiating, fostering and leveraging business partnerships with companies, technologies, and organizations in the marketplace which can strengthen Clearspring advertising solutions and related ad network
- Develop and deliver real-time metrics which clearly communicate the reach and impact of all widget advertising products
- Participate in executive level presentations to potential business partners and clients, as well as the Operations Committee and Board of Directors
Required Skills/Experience
- Deep knowledge of online advertising history, models, and evolving industry trends and existing visibility as a thought leader in the online media/advertising space
- 10+ years of combined experience in engineering/product development roles for commercial software, including 5+ years experience leading product development efforts for online advertising solutions
- Expert level knowledge of ad server solutions and integration with industry-standard ad serving technology such as DART, ATLAS, etc.
- Experience with CPM, CPC, and CPA platforms
- Strong understanding of behavioral targeting technology, and models
- Exemplary communication and client facing skills
- Bachelor's Computer Science, Engineering or other technical discipline; Master's level study in Business or Technical discipline
- Deep understanding of traditional and evolving social media spaces
- Experience leading engineering efforts in organizations focused heavily on Java/Linux and open source technologies
