ReportingClearspring delivers detailed real-time analytics to help you track widget distribution and determine optimal content placement. Our reporting gives you the capability to understand where visitors are viewing your widget, where it is spreading from and how people are interacting with it. Widgets can be placed on virtually any page or desktop across the web and measuring how they spread is what we do best. Calculating the true impact of the widget requires some unique reporting capabilities. We monitor and track all of these widget relationships so that you can measure results. As a result, you get the power of robust analytics that enable you to optimize your widget for audience growth and engagement.
Summary The Summary report displays the lifetime statistics for your widget. This report includes the total number of Unique Visitors, Views and Installs for your widget since the first time it was viewed. Features of this report include the ability to view the number of Installs by the top destinations and the percentage of Views as distributed across the most popular destinations to where your widget has been installed. Views
The Views report shows the number of Views by domain that your widget has received. A view is counted each time a widget is loaded on a page. Features of this report include the ability to add or remove a domain from the graph and pie chart and to calculate the daily growth or decline in Views to your widget.
Unique Visitors
The Unique Visitors report shows the average number of Unique Visitors by domain who have viewed your widget. A unique visitor is defined as the unique value assigned to a persistent cookie that is placed on the visitor’s browser when they view the widget. The Average Unique Visitors per day metric is sorted and grouped by the top 20 domains. This includes those Unique Visitors where the domain information was not available (Domain unknown) and the remaining Unique Visitors that were not distributed across the top 20 domains (Rest of destinations). Features of this report include the ability to add or remove a domain from the graph and pie chart and to calculate the growth or decline in Unique Visitors to your widget.
Viral Hubs
The Viral Hubs report displays the number of Grabs of your widget for the selected timespan. The Grabs metric is defined as the combination of a placement ID that is assigned when the widget is shared and the first domain where that install is viewed. This report displays those domains that are spreading the widget and the number of New Installs generated by that domain. Domains in this report are listed as “Source Domains” as they indicate the domain from which the widget was grabbed. The Grabs metric is sorted and grouped by the top 20 Source Domains. This includes those Grabs where the domain information was not available (Domain unknown) and the remaining Grabs that were not distributed across the top 20 domains (Rest of destinations). Desktop activity is included in this report and is consolidated under the element “Desktop platforms”. Features of this report include the ability to add or remove a domain from the graph and pie chart and to calculate the daily growth or decline in Grabs.
New Installs
The New Installs report shows the total number of widget installs created for the selected timespan on a domain. The New Installs metric is defined as the combination of a placement ID that is assigned when the widget is shared and the first domain where that install is viewed. This report displays those domains that are spreading the widget and the number of placements generated by that domain. The New Installs metric is sorted and grouped by the top 20 destinations. This includes those New Installs created where the domain information was not available (Destination unknown) and the remaining New Installs that were not distributed across the top 20 destinations (Rest of destinations). Features of this report include the ability to add or remove a destination from the graph and pie chart and to calculate the daily growth or decline in New Installs.
Active Installs
The Active Installs report displays the average number of widget installs viewed per day for the selected time span. The Active Installs metric is defined as the count of the number of widget installs that have been viewed at least once of the time period of analysis. This report helps you understand the activity of your widget install base and where your widget is most active across the Internet and on user's desktops. Desktop The Desktop report displays the number of times that your widget has been installed on a desktop platform. We segment this data by Desktop Platform Type and allow you the ability to understand the behavior of your desktop widget users. Additional metrics in this report include the ability to see where your desktop widgets are most active and how often they are being loaded. Interaction
The Interaction report displays how visitors are interacting with your widget. Metrics on this report include the number of Interacted Views, Interaction Rate, Clicked Views, Average Time Spent and Average Interaction Time by domain for your widget. An interaction is counted each time someone mouses over or clicks on the widget. Average Time Spent is calculated from the time a widget loads on the page until the visitor navigates away from the widget or closes their browser. The total column within the report summary sums the total Views, Interacted Views and Clicked Views that the widget has received for the selected time span. This includes those interactions where the domain information was not available (Domain unknown). Metrics on this report include the number of clicks and time spent by domain for your widget. A click is counted each time a unique visitor clicks on the widget. Time Spent is calculated from the time a widget loads on the page until the visitor navigates away from the widget or closes their browser. The total column within the report summary sums the total views, clicked views and clicks that the widget has received for the selected timespan. This includes those clicks where the domain information was not available (Domain unknown) and the remaining clicks that were not sorted within the top 20 domains (Rest of the domains). Sharing Menu The Sharing Menu report displays the number of times that the sharing menus for your widget have been viewed. This includes the views to the Launchpad on-page menu, Launchpad in-widget menu and the on-page button views for your widget. We help you understand how visitors are exposed to the opportunity to share your widget so that you can understand how to seed your widget and tune its virality.
Geographic![]() The Geographic report displays widget views by continent, country, state and region. This feature is available in the Clearspring platform by incorporating IP-geolocation data. We allow you to analyze where your widget is being viewed across any selected timespan.
Computer Information
The Computer Information report displays the number of widget views per day by operating system, browser type, and flash version. We provide a tabular view of the data as well as area and pie charts to analyze the data. Optimizing your widget for the technical profile of your audience and prospective viewers helps make it more engaging and usable, which can lead to higher distribution rates and more views. Clickthroughs
The Clickthroughs report shows the number of clickthroughs by URL for your widget. A clickthrough is counted each time a visitor clicks on an outbound link on the widget. Features of this report include the ability to capture the full URL path for where visitors are clicking through to from your widget. A custom event is a widget creator defined key that is used in conjunction with the Clearspring Tracking API to define a widget specific user interaction.
