Widget Registration

When the Clearspring Platform knows about a widget, it is said to be Registered. A widget can be Registered in basically two different ways: In either case, with widget will always end up with a Widget ID, also called a WID. Widgets registered programmatically will appear in the Widget Console once they are registered, for viewing analytics and more.

Differences Between Registration Types

Currently, there are some differences in the console between widgets registered manually and widgets registered dynamically. Primarily, programmatically-registered widgets may not have all of the same options available to them in terms of configuration management, gallery publication settings, and About information. This will be changing in the near future.
