Clearspring Technologies is the leading widget development and syndication platform reaching over 110M unique viewers every month. The Clearspring platform is being leveraged by a rapidly growing list of premier media companies across the globe including NFL, MTV, Walt Disney Company, ESPN, and the BBC.
Clearspring is seeking to add a talented and professional Controller to our McLean, VA headquarters to manage all aspects of general accounting functions and help scale our financial processes and systems to meet the growing demands of a rapidly growing Web 2.0 company.
Primary Responsibilities
- Managing all aspects of general accounting functions
- Control all general ledger transactions in order to support validity of balances and meet audit requirements
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, employee expense reports, cash control, payroll processing and corporate payroll tax compliance
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements
- Develop and implement finance, accounting, and auditing procedures
- Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards
- Ensures record systems are maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles standards
Required Skills/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; Masters a plus
- CPA preferred
- 5+ years of direct experience in a senior-level accounting role
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
