August 09, 2009
For good Ashes coverage try: http://www.bbc.co.uk/fivelive/sport/commentaries/
...... and click "listen', It's the same coverage we would
receive in Australia, but via the BBC. Please enjoy.
Dissapointed part 5 and final
August 08, 2009
At least I am getting the BBC radio broadcast as I type this.

All the best fellow cricket lovers.

Go the Aussies!!!
Dissapointed part 4
August 08, 2009
From this conversation it was obvious that no one at the ABC routinely monitors
the online signal.

Pretty poor ABC. Get your act together!
Dissapointed part 3
August 08, 2009
The technician tested the signal from his computer while I was on the phone
& confirmed the Richard Stubbs program was not being broadcast (streamed
online) at the time.
Dissapointed part 2
August 08, 2009
It's possible the ABC technicians haven't 'plugged' in the
signal or thrown the switch.
I have experienced this in the past on ABC 774 Melbourne - the Richard Stubbs
program at least 2 or 3 times. I called the station & they didn't seem
to be aware of it.
Dissapointed
August 08, 2009
I updated Windows Media Player & Real Player, still NO ABC Cricket coverage.
Just that annoying empty signal.

But I found a good coverage on:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/fivelive/sport/commentaries/
....... with an Aussie commentator and other familiar voices.
Dissapointed

Australia.

It's good to see watsons back again ,'will he last until the end of

March 10, 2009
well, now that the aussies have won series over in SA,we don't seem to hear
the "past cricketters" saying how good ponting and his boys are
now,but by crickey they all had a say when they were losing....good on you ricky
and the boys,well done,make it 3-0
andrew
March 06, 2009
why is the cricket australia website not working
John from Bangkok
February 28, 2009
Forget the ABC. I live in Bangkok. Instead I go to Radio 2000 in South Africa
(www.radio2000.co.za) and click listen live. You get Sth African English
commentary but at least you get it!
tabsey
February 26, 2009
The widget is available to iGoogle users from the iGoogle site.
Still no spinner. Nothing has been right with spin since they all went to NSW
and Crazy had to go to Tassie to get a game.
billie
February 12, 2009
maybe try the icon that suits where you want to the widget to go? e.g. google
toolbar but i think you have to have an account for it to be placed on there and
for you to have the ability to access it. not very user friendly
Simon
February 09, 2009
What do I do with this "widget". Dont' see any instructions for
instaling it !!! SeemPretty clumsy if I have to download it each time.
Liam
February 08, 2009
@Shaun, put your trousers back on...

I suspect the ABC policy of not broadcasting outside of Australia is a
broadcast rights issue. Just the same as I can't listen to live streaming
of English Premier League games courtesy of the BBC.
Matt
February 05, 2009
Bring Hauritz up the order!!
Tragic
January 17, 2009
I took this job in India on the assumption I could hear Skull over the internet.
Shaun Deer in Bangkok
January 16, 2009
WHAT CAN I SAY? ABC GRANDSTAND's POLICY OF NO STREAMING OUTSIDE AUST IS NOT
ONLY A DISCRACE. DEFEATS 1OF THE FLIPPING PURPOSES OF THIS SERVICE. MY RADIO
CANT PICK UP oz STATIONS FROM BAngkok AND SHAME ON THE COMMENTATORS FOR ALOOWING
THIS ALSO.
Steve
January 06, 2009
Ok so Ponting has made some questionable decisions lately but u blame him he has
had a lack of fit players in lee and symonds and two newbies playing so really
can we blame selectors for our poor form
Jack
January 05, 2009
works fine for me :)
joepower
January 05, 2009
I think if SK Warne had a little less conspicuous private life he may have been
a great Australian captain. If he decided to make a comeback for the Ashes
series I would back him for the captaincy. If he decided to make a comeback...
Adam Mac
January 05, 2009
When is the scg gunna let us in for cheap tickets for the afternoon...

I'd love to leave work at 4 and see the last 2 hrs..???

im glad skull is on radio, nice work keep it up .
Ali
January 05, 2009
Ponting's problem is that he has been part of a very successful for such a
long time he has really never had to "captain" per say. Now he has to
prove to everyone why he was chosen in the first place. For once he actually has
to use his brain.
joepower
January 05, 2009
He probably should have had a third man in, and thought about bowling Clarke or
Katich occasionally. But really, would Clarke have done any better. No. Thats my
point. Ponting is the best captain we've got right now.
joepower
January 05, 2009
Ok, so Ponting made a few strange decisions. But you can't just sack a guy
like Ponting. Think about the psychological implications of that.
Wilko
January 05, 2009
Hey Joepower

Jane is spot on and I guess some idiots haven't been paying attention for
replacement Captains. Errrrrrrrrrr...ever heard of Michael Clarke?
jockstrap
January 04, 2009
Hey joepower, I agree wih Jane, I think Mr Ponting is starting to crack a bit
under pressure with some poor desicions.............lets just hope he doesnt do
a Kim Hughes
jockstrap
January 04, 2009
why not just sack em all and bring Australia A side in, they cant do any
worse??????????
Alfred
January 04, 2009

rob
December 30, 2008
whats happened to nathan bracken
Chappy
December 29, 2008
In 2008 AUS has not lost a test when we scored 400+ in any innings, so why not
strengthen the batting? Especially with Klinger, Hughes, Rogers in great form.
Why the desperation with an allrounder at 6, previous No6s incl Martyn, M
Clarke, Hussey.
joepower
December 29, 2008
Jane - you say lets drop ponting as captain? Who would replace him? Jane,
I'm sorry but you're an idiot.
Faithful
December 29, 2008
If everyone is so keen to drop Hayden, how about he goes to 6??
Josh
December 29, 2008
Given the loss of experience with Lee, Symonds and maybe Haydon not playing in
Sydney, what about Brad Hodge at 6?
Dave
December 28, 2008
Does Australia need to bring in another quick for the next test? If they dropped
Symmons for Watson they could bring in a second spinner for Sydney maybe.
Jane
December 28, 2008
Lets get rid of PONTING as captain.
Poor Old Henry
December 28, 2008
Is Australia playing test cricket with a one day mentality, particularly in
relation to patience and shot selection? Has our team forgotton the meaning of
'test' and 'paitence' and 'waiting for the right
moment'?
Poor Old Henry
December 28, 2008
If there was a mercy rule in cricket, then right now it should be offered to
Australia. From spring steel to tissue paper in resilience terms it seems.
Poor Old Henry
December 28, 2008
Does Australia have a cricketing death wish? Is it time for Mathew Hayden to
depart the scene?
Henry Gray
December 28, 2008
It seems that the sun is setting on the cricketing fortunes of Australia, as it
rises on the cricketing future of South Africa. Its almost official
that Australian Test Cricket, is on the wane.
John
December 28, 2008
What has happened to Nathan Bracken? Why his he not in contention to replace
Lee?
Chris
December 28, 2008
Please note, due to rights issues, this service is not available to users
outside Australia. The ABC has streaming rights only within Australia.

This is provided on the ABC website...

December 28, 2008
I have no problem listening to the excellent commentary provided by ABC
Grandstand! Cricket is excellent by the way, great listening.
Lisa
December 28, 2008
I am un able to listen to the cricket via the internet as everytime I get a
recorded message saying that the service is is experincing technical problems.
This has been happing since Australia was playing in India. Help?????
Andrew Wright
December 27, 2008
When in Australia you often here the ABC commentary team stating that cricket is
been streamed live around the world. Obviously I live on another planet, (I live
in Thailand) I can not listen to the cricket via Internet.

Shame ABC Shame.............

use this than the 'Cricket Kit'

December 25, 2008
i agree with Conan. I'm Tokyo. It's so gay - can't get a feed. It
just says "australian IP's only". What a load of hogwash! Anyone
in australia could watch it on TV or listen to the radio, but they limit the
internet feed to oz ip's.
Conan
December 25, 2008
this is a disgrace!!! i am i norway i want to listen to the boxing day test, but
i can't!! i ahve downloaded the widget and i still can't commentary.

December 17, 2008
Mmmmmmmmm, seems that we have some technophobes.
Shaneo
December 16, 2008
I wonder if any overseas users have had success utilising an Australian Proxy
server?
Theo
December 16, 2008
4) If you are trying to listen from work, your office might have a firewall that
blocks the feed, so give up or go ask your manager/IT dude to allow you
access... it'd be "unAustralian" to say no!
Theo
December 16, 2008
3) You can copy the code into the script of any html page that you manage and
you should get the player. But if you knew this you wouldn't be having a
problem in the first place... ;)
Theo
December 16, 2008
2) The player can be embedded in one of the services linked to in the "get
and share" box. You need to be a member of (say) blogger or facebook, or
have an iGoogle homepage to click and use this
Theo
December 16, 2008
A couple of point for those having trouble with this. 1) As it states above:
"Please note, due to rights issues, this service is not available to users
outside Australia. The ABC has streaming rights only within Australia." So
give up if this is you.
Robert
December 08, 2008
Aussies living in the States are screwed!! We have to pay to listen and watch
cricket over here. Has anyone heard of a free way around the nonsense outside
Oz??
tom
December 06, 2008
so got it onto my iGoogle page no probs, but echoing Max from E Timor, how am I
supposed to hear this in Singapore when it won't play for users outside
Australia - what's the point supposed to be?

Is anyone from ABC reading this?
confused
December 01, 2008
anyone who got it to work want to let the rest of us know how? PS wouldn't
change the nickname to grandma - they always seem to know everything!!
Ian
November 30, 2008
How come I can't add it to my MySpace page?
Max - East Timor
November 29, 2008
Why do they state grandstand/global on their web page and then advertise
"listen where ever you like" for the widget, when the text above
states "Not available outside Australia".

Am I missing something?
domdom
November 29, 2008
I agree with Micheal! Go with Google!!!
Michael1964
November 28, 2008
What are you whinging Wally's on about - I just installed this on my Google
home page with two clicks - seems to work, too!
Richard
November 27, 2008
It's much easier to listen to the same commentary on line through the NZ
radio stations!
Glenn, Empire Bay
November 27, 2008
what a trek to get here???...finally listening on line wwooohhooo, did they have
this up for the tests in India, i couldn't find anything and even rang the
ABC.....they offered no alternative.....so who had the rights??
Chappo
November 27, 2008
2000 views, only 12 installs - a take-up rate of 0.6%. Shows the lack of advice
on how to get the damn thing working. Archaic approach to customer service and
ICT! Change ABC's nickname from Aunty to Grandma.
stkildajimmy
November 26, 2008
I get nothing,

which is a crying shame because as you know, you guys would have had a direct
way to communicate with me via my desktop.

and now I'm not going to bother with it again. 'Cmon ABC,.
aren't you supposed to be leading the way here in Aus?
Russell
November 23, 2008
Do we need something installed on our PC before we can use this. Like a widget
framework from ClearSpring perhaps? IE8 crashes when I try to install this, and
Google Chrome doesn't seem to do much. Installation instructions might have
been usful.
jennie_jo
November 21, 2008
probably needed to expand ... would really like to be able to send an email to
the commentary team from this page - with the email address automatically
inserted, for those of us who don't know it.
jennie_jo
November 21, 2008
would like to be able to send an SMS or email from this page
Geoff
November 21, 2008
Do you guys realise that dumbass idiot who set this up actually got paid for it!
Surely, the clowns could have had a test run first to see if this gr8 scheme
actually works.

Come on ABC...........get real

falls.....
Theo
November 20, 2008
Works fine for me in my iGoogle page...
Bertie
November 20, 2008
Be blowed if I can get anything. Click on Windows Media and nothing happens. Gee
I am disappointed.
Darren
November 20, 2008
Why is there no sound when I try to get the commentary on the internet - trying
both windows media and real player. I get other ABC radio channels online (such
as news radio) as well as other stations such as SEN, but the grandstand one has
no sound.
